The Role
The role’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Supporting the relevant staff officer in the remediation of immediate capability gaps, whilst developing and maturing the document set required to progress the project
Planning and scheduling – forward assessment of upcoming activities, workload and workforce requirements. Development of plans to achieve the required tasks to agreed timeframes and standards
Research and analysis – inform project activities and support critical review, assessment and communication of information (synthesise, summarise and recommend)
Records and information management
Planning/scoping – confirm documentation deliverables and schedule drafting, consultation and approval
Drafting – prepare documentation to agreed timeframes and standards
Consultation – initiate and manage document review activities to align the project documentation
Approval – finalise project documentation and prepare supporting papers, briefs and presentations to gain endorsement
Supporting the staff officer in the engagement to close broader and longer-term capability gaps, whilst socialising and gaining support for project concepts and documentation
Stakeholder engagement planning, coordination, conduct and reporting (working groups, steering groups, Integrated Project and Integrated Project Management Team meetings, workshops, reviews, boards and committees)
Stakeholder communication (informal and formal) including project documentation, papers, briefs, presentations, regular/routine updates and Capability One reporting
Manage obstacles that will impede on the deliverables being successfully executed;
Successfully collaborate with ADF, APS and Defence contractors;
Self-manage their hours to ensure contractual obligations are being met and to advise the SO1 Land Intelligence of contractual risks;
Not work out of scope of contract; and
Be capable of working remotely (off site)
Your Background & Experience
The role requires demonstrated experience in:
Project and/or Program Management skills within the One Defence Capability System (essential – sponsor and delivery experience will be highly regarded)
Recognised qualifications in Project and/or Program Management (highly desirable)
One Defence Capability System documentation preparation (essential)
Stakeholder engagement skills (essential)
Defence knowledge – information warfare/operations/activities (IW/IO/IA), information-related capabilities (IRC), intelligence support to IW/IO/IA (highly desirable)
