J8 Doctrine Coordination Manager
Level 3 - Advanced Practitioner
12 month contract
Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC) is the Australian Defence Force's operational level headquarters responsible for the command and control of ADF operations.
Commander Joint Operations (CJOPS) is required to maintain a focus on Warfighting, including capability gap identification and attainment of Theatre Campaign objectives. Current and integrated Joint Doctrine is critical in support of these objectives. CJOPS is responsible to CDF, as a COSC member, to produce assigned publications in accordance with the five-year rolling Doctrine Management Plan (DMP).

The Role
The role’s responsibilities will include:
Manage the review and development of ADF Doctrine on behalf of J8 and CJOPS (including Defence wide publications received from the Lessons Doctrine Directorate (LDD) for HQJOC endorsement
Coordinate publication reviews across JOC SMEs as part of the HQJOC endorsement process
Develop and implement an ADF Doctrine compliant process for development and depository for the promulgation of HQJOC doctrine at the Application level
Review the HQJOC identified legacy publications and manage the actions to either retain, retire or reallocate the doctrine
Develop HQJOC standard operating procedures for the management of HQJOC doctrine
Develop associated documentation to communicate and facilitate internal J8 and HQJOC decision making for doctrine
Develop and maintain professional and collegiate relationships with the LDD
Inform JDD staff of Joint Collective Training (JCT) activities which provide the opportunity to inform and validate current and emerging doctrine
Represent J8 Branch at Doctrine Community of Practice (CoP)
Your Background & Experience
The assessment criteria is as follows:
Prior experience in Defence essential
Experience gained in a Defence headquarters would be highly advantageous
Manage own time effectively, take ownership and responsibility for tasks allocated, and meet deadlines;
Ability to work independently, and also to effectively liaise directly with the JOC Lesson Network and stakeholders
