Level 3 - Advanced Practitioner
12 month contract
The Commonwealth requires the services of a LCSSE Network Engineer to supplement the contractor workforce within the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC). This proposal seeks to engage a Level 3 Advanced Practitioner to help mature and maintain the various networks that exist within LNIC’s ICT Environments.

The Role
The role’s responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Assist with the day to day management of the LNIC Data Centre and associated support environments
Develop, document and maintain the network design and configuration documents
Develop and maintain technical and procedural documentation, and configuration records for the Land Combat System Support Environment (LCSSE)
Contribute t
o and help control the design and implementation of infrastructure extensions and upgrades through provision of written and oral feedback and management of changes
Follow Change Management and Configuration Management processes as defined by the LNIC Engineering Team
Assist with the maintenance of ongoing security accreditation of the environment through monitoring, vulnerability assessments, configuration management, patching of operating systems and applications, and providing subject matter expertise into security threat risk analysis
Provide advice to ADF, APS, and contractor staff on the LCSSE, and undertake employment category specific tasking from the LNIC Executive as required

Your Background & Experience
The role requires demonstrated experience in:
Core Switching and Routing technologies
Enterprise Firewall implementation and management
Virtualised networking technologies, including VMware vCenter version 6.5 (and later)
Hyper-converged Infrastructure Technologies
Understanding of DEVOPS and associated technologies/processes
Automation/Orchestration of network device configurations
8+ years’ experience managing enterprise ICT networking environments
Extensive experience with virtualised environments and virtualised networking
Industry Qualifications in line with the above technologies
Understanding of in-service integrated battlefield telecommunication network equipment
Engineering documentation creation and development
Public Cloud technologies (Azure)
VMware NSX/NSX-T or equivalent Software Defined Networking technologies
NVidia Cumulus
CCNA or equivalent certification
Experience with Network automation and segmentation
